8th Anniversary of Foundation Day

You can watch the live celebration of Foundation Day from Korea on February 24 at 11:30 a.m. (AEDT – Sydney time).

February 22, marks the 8th anniversary of Foundation Day! The late Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, co-founder of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), often spoke about Foundation Day (Cheon Il Guk) in the years leading up to it and before his ascension in 2012. Foundation Day 2013 was the pinnacle culmination of a yearslong process, where God and True Parents are one. True Parents is an affectionate term for Rev. Moon and his wife Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon.

Rev. Moon first began establishing and strengthening the Foundation for Cheon Il Guk in 2001, creating ceremonies to expand God’s presence among individuals, nations, the world, and the cosmos. Each coronation was a step toward realizing and proclaiming the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. Rev. Moon shared that Foundation Day is the first day of the New Eden, where we must have a clean, pure heart during this new beginning and time of rebirth.

Additionally, Rev. Moon said Foundation Day occurs when two people substantially become one, thereby creating the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth, which can only be realized through unity and love among humankind. Though each nation has its own Foundation Day, the nation of Cheon Il Guk begins in Korea where God has direct dominion over it. Rev. Moon said as this Heavenly Nation unfolds, we must embody a Foundation Day culture, stemming from a place where there is no focus on oneself. This is what he called, ‘living for the sake of others.’

Let us serve one another with a selfless heart as we celebrate the 8th anniversary of Foundation Day.
