A website for studying the Exposition of the Divine Principle including color highlights. The material is presented simultaneously in Korean and English, paragraph by paragraph. Russian/Korean and Ukrainian/Korean also available.
The Divine Principle or Exposition of the Divine Principle (in Korean, Wolli Kangron, hangul: 원리강론, hanja: 原理講論) is the main theological textbook of the Unification Church.
There have been three English translations:
- Divine Principle and Its Application – Young Oon Kim (Red Book-1969)
- The Divine Principle (1973 – Black Book)
- Exposition of the Divine Principle (1996)
- In the deluxe color coded edition (Exposition of the Divine Principle, 1996), the colors are based upon the 39th Korean edition of Wolli Kangron with colors prepared by Mrs. Gil Ja Sa Eu. The main ideas are shaded red, topics of second rank are shaded blue, and topics of third rank are shaded yellow. The reader can grasp the main thread of the teaching of the Divine Principle in a short time by reading only the red text. Reading the red and blue text together provides a richer framework; reading all three colors together gives a rather full exposition including many examples. To get the fullest meaning, the text must be studied in its entirety. Yet even when reading the full text, attention to the passages in red can help to clarify the thread of the argument.
A project is underway to make the 원리강론 (Wolli Kangron, 1966) Korean text, with color coding, accessible to readers with little knowledge of Korean by combining it with the text of the 1996 translation (Exposition of the Divine Principle) here.
